Pattern 68 Second Half of Genesis 1:1 Repeated in the Human Reference Genome

Pattern Statement:

The repetition pattern of the final 14 Hebrew letters of Genesis 1:1 occurs 34 times in the amino-acid-letter sequence generated by verify.java from the specified GRCh38.p12 human reference genome files. Each occurrence uses a one-to-one substitution key between the distinct Hebrew letters and amino-acid symbols.

Why this pattern matters

Genesis 1:1 divides exactly into two halves of 14 letters. The first three words contain 14 letters, and the final four words contain 14 letters. Pattern 68 applies the same predetermined search used in Pattern 67 to the second half of the verse.

How this pattern is measured

The spaces between the final four Hebrew words are removed, producing the following 14-letter transliteration:

A O H J M Y M V A O H A R E

The program searches the amino-acid-letter sequences generated from chromosomes 1–22, X, Y, and mitochondrial DNA for sections with exactly the same repeated-letter structure.

Hebrew transliteration: A O H J M Y M V A O H A R E
Repetition structure: 1 2 3 4 5 6 5 7 1 2 3 1 8 9

Positions 1, 9, and 12 must match.
Positions 2 and 10 must match.
Positions 3 and 11 must match.
Positions 5 and 7 must match.
All nine distinct Hebrew letters must map to nine distinct amino-acid symbols.

verify.java translates the specified nucleotide data into amino-acid symbols and tests each consecutive 14-symbol section against this structure. The count is accumulated across all 25 chromosome files.

Result for Genesis 1:1

The final 14-letter structure of Genesis 1:1 occurs 34 times in the processed GRCh38.p12 reference-genome data.

The program records the chromosome, position, matched amino-acid sequence, and one-to-one substitution key for each occurrence.

Exact data required to reproduce this result

This result requires the GRCh38.p12 chromosome files downloaded from NCBI on August 28, 2019. Revised genome assemblies or different chromosome files may produce different results.

This is a structural substitution match. The program does not claim that Hebrew letters or Hebrew words occur literally in human DNA. A match means that an amino-acid sequence has the same pattern of repeated and distinct symbols as the final 14 Hebrew letters.

Genesis 1:1 section Words Letters Distinct letters Matches
First half 1–3 14 9 48
Second half 4–7 14 9 34

Both halves have the same general multiplicity profile:

one letter occurring three times;
two letters occurring twice;
six letters occurring once.

Probability note

Pattern 68 reports a reproducible count rather than a standalone probability. Estimating its probability requires applying the identical genome-processing and matching procedure to a predetermined set of comparable 14-letter control structures and measuring how often they produce at least 34 matches.

This page uses the probability notation provided in the original pattern sequence.
