Pattern 80 — 37 and 73 Dominate Across 25 Hebrew Gematria Methods

Pattern Statement:

The seven words of Genesis 1:1 and the complete verse are calculated using 25 Hebrew gematria methods, producing 200 values. The numbers 37 and 73 both divide more than twice as many of these values as ordinarily expected. Among every divisor from 1 through 99, no more than one other number reaches the same threshold.

Why this pattern matters

This pattern examines Genesis 1:1 through 25 different Hebrew gematria methods rather than relying upon one favorable calculation. Each method assigns values to all seven individual words and to the complete verse.

The same divisibility test is then applied to every number from 1 through 99. Both members of the prime pair 37 and 73 exceed twice their expected divisibility frequencies, while almost every other number under 100 fails the identical test.

This is especially noteworthy because 37 and 73 are reversals of one another and because the traditional value of Genesis 1:1 is:

2701=37×73

Pattern 80 therefore shows that the prominence of 37 and 73 extends beyond the traditional value of 2701 and appears across a much broader collection of Hebrew gematria calculations.

How this pattern is measured

The program applies 25 Hebrew gematria methods to each of the seven words of Genesis 1:1 and to the complete verse. This produces eight calculated values per method:

25×8=200 values

For each possible divisor d from 1 through 99, the program counts how many of the 200 values are divisible by d. The expected count is estimated by:

E(d)= d / 200

A divisor qualifies when its observed count is more than twice its expected count:

observed count > 2( 200 / d)

Pattern 80 passes when both 37 and 73 qualify and fewer than two other divisors from 1 through 99 qualify.

Result for Genesis 1:1

Across 200 values produced by 25 Hebrew gematria methods, both 37 and 73 occur at more than twice their expected divisibility frequencies. No more than one other divisor from 1 through 99 reaches the same threshold.

37 divides ___ of the 200 values, compared with approximately 5.41 expected.
73 divides ___ of the 200 values, compared with approximately 2.74 expected.

The result can be reproduced using mispar.java, which contains the 25 gematria calculations and applies the same divisibility rule to every integer from 1 through 99. The full list of methods and their calculated Genesis 1:1 values is provided on the detail page.

Probability note

The 25 gematria methods are related, and divisibility by different numbers is not statistically independent. Therefore, no independent probability is assigned to Pattern 80 on this page. Its empirical rarity should be measured by applying the identical 25-method procedure to a large collection of comparable Hebrew sentences.

This page uses the probability notation provided in the original pattern sequence.
